When you stay in your room and rage or sneer or shrug your shoulders, as I did for many years, the world and its problems are impossibly daunting. But when you go out and put yourself in real relation to real people, or even just real animals, there’s a very real danger that you might end up loving some of them. And who knows what might happen to you then? — Jonathan Franzen
It’s amazing the things you’ll find at a flea market.

I’ve been wearing this Miansai casing bracelet for a couple of days now and it’s starting to look like I’ve had it for ages. Bronze tends to take on that quality. It almost gives it even more of a nautical feel. Michael Salger makes different styles of military grade woven cord and metal bracelets and accessories. I’m not one to over do it, but that pure gold iPhone case looks a bit tempting..

I think one thing that most people don’t take advantage of if they have it, is time alone. As a human race we are more prone to community. On the other hand the occasional moment alone in a cafe, out doors, or even a museum is not a bad idea. It gives you time to gather your thoughts, take a look at the big picture, and just prepare yourself for what’s to follow. I prefer the occasional trip to a bookstore or coffee shop. What about you?

So I recently got a new every day carry bag. I wanted something that was going to last me a long time, but wasn’t too “tactical” in nature. I decided on the Belstaff 556 Colonial Messenger. Belstaff, originally a British company is now Italian owned. The 556 is made out of cotton canvas and has leather straps. It can go with just about anything and is roomy enough to carry everything from my Macbook Air, to a couple of notebooks and small jacket. There are tons of bag options out there, but this one seems to suit me just fine.
amen.
